Orem Summerfest

We went to Orem Summerfest on Saturday afternoon. We had fun, especially the kids. The parade and fireworks were their absolute favorite. Even though Danny said that the parade was like watching a 2 hour commercial. Which, for the most part, I had to agree. But, I wasn't watching it all that much anyway. I was more focused on making sure the kids were not too far out onto the streets. Those people driving their trucks and floats and motorcycles are too busy waving at people to actually watch where they are going. We had a clown car driving zig zag down the street and he came over to give someone next to us a flier and almost took out 3 kids in the process.
The most disgusting award of the day went to a girl on the tornado ride (the ride next to the one we were standing in line for). This ride goes forward first and then they slow down and go backwards. As the ride was slowing down to go the opposite direction, she was screaming to get off and yelling at the attendant to let her off. At first, she looked like she was scared, but then as the ride started to go faster again, she yelled "I'm gonna throw up!" Too late now. Everyone behind her and below, brace yourselves and CLOSE YOUR MOUTHS!! Anyway, she barfed, and barfed again, and then as the ride was slowing down to stop, she barfed a third time, but this time it was right in front of everyone in line to get on that ride. There was a collective moan of "O0000000hhhhhhhh" and lots of cringing. It was disgusting, but funny at the same time.

Maddie enjoying her Snow cone. She ate 2/3 of it and then dumped the rest of it on herself. ..........Awesome.

Ethan and his cousin Savannah on their fav. ride.

The name of the kid right behind Ethan, was Ethan. So, whenever we would talk to him, this other kid looked confused and when the other kid's parents said hi to him, our Ethan would wave to them and have a huge grin. This car was one of the best things that happened to him today. He was so focused on driving it correctly, until we started having him give us "5" as he came around again. Good thing it wasn't a real car and hopefully he won't be like that when he's 16. Great, now I can picture him driving around town with his window down, high 5ing everyone.

Then, we got this gem of a picture.......yeah, that's my kid. Apologies to all the parents who had to witness and also to the parents whose children sat in that car after my son.
